We had already worked closely with this customer on an earlier design, which replaced their existing manufacturing method with a sheet metal enclosure. They were pleased enough with it to ask us to redesign another product.
The brief
The second redesign was trickier. The customer had a few design features they wanted to include that had not been possible in the past.
Designing in Radan
We modelled the enclosure in Radan. The 3D model helped demonstrate the product to the customer and gather valuable feedback.
The result
We made two prototypes and were extremely pleased with the result. At the time, the customer was predicting an order of 500 boxes.
Upgrading our CAD
Alongside this work, we were upgrading to Radan 2016 to offer customers even more design support.
